The Project Superintendent's job is to supervise the construction work that the company has contracted to perform; to maintain the Company's quality standards by properly scheduling and executing all assigned projects; planning the work tasks so that they can be accomplished most efficiently and safely and scheduling the work of the crews, equipment and subcontractors to achieve maximum quality production in the most efficient and cost effective manner; as well as leading in the successful delivery and closing out each assigned project.
GENERAL o Lead by example - showing positive presence and character as well as excellence in regards to initiative, quality, customer service and mutual accountability o Understand and display the company philosophy of mutual success and goals in relation to each Project and on an overall basis o Take direction from and report to the General Manager o Exhibit sound judgment and independent decision-making skills o Exhibit great communication skills with co-workers and customers both verbally and in writing o Respond to requests for services within specified timeframes to maximize success o Prepare detailed scopes of work and support cost estimating and proposal preparation.
o Daily communication with customers and co-workers and supervisor o Grow the existing client base and maintain current client relationships o Provide assistance to and maintain regular communication with all Field Techs, Skilled Laborers, and General Laborers o Responsible for managing daily written and electronic file documentation PROJECT MANAGEMENT o Develop and manage job schedules and cost details of each job, resolving any differences with subcontractors, clients, staff and design team at the beginning of every job o Take charge of scheduling materials, equipment and subcontractors o Exhibit full knowledge of project life cycles and proper work sequencing o Lead and comply with all company policies and purchasing processes o Forward all receipts, purchase orders, subcontracts, reports, etc to office & Project Coordinator at appointed times o Maintain Daily Job Logs & project required documentation for each project o Keep schedules current, review schedule status and job costs on weekly basis o Must properly communicate with Office concerning all jobs costs and financial documentation.
Significant changes to scope and costs are to be reviewed with management team.
o Maintain a high standard of Quality at all times Exhibit A - Job Description o Maintain good relationships with owners, inspectors, architects, engineers, subcontractors and other key people in relation to Projects o Take charge of job site safety for company employees, customers and subcontractors, ensure that all on site are in compliance o Take charge of job site security, protecting the customer and Company o Maintain good housekeeping practices by company employees and subcontractors, both at office, in vehicle and on site o Continuously inspect tools, equipment and supplies; ensuring equipment longevity, proper maintenance and a safe work environment EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT o Lead in the hiring, employee performance review and terminations as applicable for field employees o Review attendance to include timecards and encourage promptness at office and job site.
PRODUCTION o All work is produced on time, within industry standard margins, and with exceptional quality.
