Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative support functions focused on business recruitment, retention, and expansion.
This position serves as first contact for potential and existing businesses and serves as liaison to the City's partner economic development organizations to promote and strengthen partnerships with the Evans local business community.
Essential Functions:

) Assist Economic Development Director in business attraction activities which may include developing knowledge of existing and target industries and businesses, visiting and communicating with businesses, planning, developing, coordinating, and administering business outreach action items for business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts aligned with the Evans Economic Resiliency Plan.
Serves as a liaison between the City and the business community to provide information and assistance, support retention activities, understand and respond to business needs, and field initial inquiry for economic development potential by telephone, email and in person.
Oversee and coordinate the input of information, data tracking, and related reports for prospect tracking, business intake and economic impact analysis.
Establishes, maintains and fosters positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work and handles confidential and sensitive information.
Assist with administrative procedures to develop communication materials, disseminate, and manage economic development programs.
These programs could include storefront improvement, community events, incentive programs, newsletters, marketing materials, etc.
and may require attendance at community events or partnering agency before-hours or after-hours events.
Provide support for developing and managing the economic development departmental budget, to include purchase orders, invoice tracking, purchase card reconciliations, account allocations and overall review.
Performs a variety of administrative support functions such as data entry, typing, filing, maintaining records, processing paperwork, preparing mailings, and proofreading letters, memos, contracts and reports.
Assists with complex and professional written materials such as City Council staff reports, activity tracking reports, and other written communications as requested by Director.
Provide administrative assistance by scheduling meetings, appointments, and activities and/or coordinating travel arrangements for staff.
Attends meetings and takes notes and/or keeps minutes as required.
Assists with ordering, receiving, stocking and distributing supplies and equipment.
Utilizes data entry, word processing and spreadsheet software to develop and maintain written communications and information.
Utilizes file maintenance programs to enter, store and/or retrieve information as required or to establish or modify existing files.
Monitors effectiveness of administrative support functions and recommends procedural changes to improve effectiveness.
Assists with special projects as assigned.
Assists in developing and maintaining reference manuals.
May work a varying schedule and/or shift.
Performs other duties as assigned by Economic Development Director.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; four years' progressively responsible customer service or administrative support experience.
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience related to economic development, redevelopment, or economic vitality which demonstrates success in working with the private sector or business community preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the policies, procedures and goals of the division.
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of math, spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary.
Skill in organizing and managing multiple and competing tasks.
Skill in the operation of standard office machines such as multi-line telephone, copiers, fax machine, calculators, and audio/visual equipment.
Skill in using standard computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
Skill in the safe and lawful operation of a motor vehicle.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented work environment.
Ability to work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment with individual responsibility for accuracy, timeliness, completeness and assuring proper quality control.
Ability to provide a high level of quality customer service to a diverse client base.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Valid Colorado driver's license.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for prolonged periods.
The employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk, stand, reach, twist, demonstrate manual dexterity and use repetitive motions in the conduct of work.
The employee is required to exercise visual concentration for extended periods of time.
The employee is required to focus attention on tasks without losing concentration or becoming distracted by surrounding activities and interruptions.
The employee is also required to perform kneeling, squatting, stooping and pushing, pulling and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office setting.
The City of Evans conducts pre-employment physical exams, drug testing, and background investigations as a condition of employment.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
