Staff Accountant

Willbros is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist with day-to-day corporate monthly close activities including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and monthly analytical queries and reports. The Staff Accountant will apply an advanced level of understanding of general accounting principles to assist in the preparation of financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze journal entries and requisite accompanying documentation.
Assist with a significant number of monthly reconciliations and schedules related to the financial statements and closing process.
Provide ad hoc reports as requested.
Assist with monthly closing procedures associated with the Company's subsidiaries, as needed.
Resolve accounting discrepancies, as needed.
Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly financial reporting package to management.
Assist with income statement analysis.
Prepare PBC's for both internal and external auditors; includes addressing follow-up inquiries through resolution.
Assist with the preparation and investigation of monthly integrity reports, as well as financial results reporting and analytics.
Assist with special projects and accounting analysis, as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
0-3 years accounting experience
General knowledge of accounting theories and principles including general ledgers, GAAP, journal accounting.
Experience using accounting software programs, such as JD Edwards, preferred.
Skills/Experience:
Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
Proficiency in use of Excel.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently on assignments.
Well organized & detail oriented.
Mathematical aptitude.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Advocate of team concept.
Able to interact with all levels of management.
Understands the organizational implications of work assignments and decisions.
Ability to discover ideas and recommend solutions.
Experience working in a large, global construction and engineering service company is preferred.
May train less experienced Accountants.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
